With the release of the ‘High Quality Care for All’ report in Autumn 2008, the Department of Health signalled clearly the need for all organisations to focus as much on delivering excellent patient care as on developing leadership capability. Now, with increasing financial constraints, the challenge is to deliver quality while improving productivity, to use innovation to drive and embed the change needed.

Like all organisations you will have been asked to support the vision for quality healthcare, particularly in these times of financial challenge. You may be wondering whether your leaders- your clinicians and your managers- understand this and can support this vision. 

Throughout this time, you need good leaders to provide perspective and context for the workforce, to engage and influence within and across organisations, professions and levels. You need clinicians and managers to take forward your vision and strategy, setting high standards, leading by example, and providing mentoring, coaching and development support to future leaders. 

At Coalescence we recognise that not every clinician wants to take on a leadership role. We particularly have a track record of supporting clinicians to rise to this critical responsibility. Our consultants will work with you to identify the barriers at play in your organisation, engaging clinicians in a leadership debate to clarify the issues, consider and design solutions, and support the development of new capabilities.
