Theresa Hegarty
Theresa currently works as a senior manager at two NHS Trusts, with responsibility for over 80 staff. She originally trained and qualified as an occupational therapist (OT), and has also trained and worked as a counsellor. The early part of her career was spent in London in a wide variety of pioneering OT roles, including working with older people in diverse settings, as well as with social services.
In 1996 Theresa became the manager of the OT service in what is now BANES PCT, progressing to become the professional lead for OT across a wide portfolio of service areas. She is also responsible for managing OT services at an NHS trust acute hospital, and has served as the Allied Health Professional member on the PCT Professional Executive Committee.
